![]() Actually Ariel Rider has 2 USB ports, one on display and one on battery. There is a USB port on battery which you can use to charge your smartphone. The charger isn’t a really fast one but it sure charges 50% faster than 2 amp chargers which we see in 90% of the e-bikes in market. ![]() Besides# they don’t get warm as quickly as other chargers such as SANS or D-power. It has one of the most sophisticated active and passive cell balancing technology which extends life of your battery. ST is the best Chinese battery charger with being sported by brands like Pedego or Rad Power. I just advise to buy from a seller with good reputation and buy it when your warranty expires. As they don’t customize their battery, you can always buy a new battery at a reasonable price. One thing I love about e-bikes like Ariel Rider and similar ones is being able to buy after-market batteries. You can charge your battery on and off your e-bike. But I don’t see anyone riding this way and it seen out of discussion with especially this e-bike. This range can be shorter if you ride over 30 mph on throttle only or can be longer if you ride only on pedal assist level. ![]() I managed to make 26 miles when battery capacity was almost at half so realistically the range you will have on Ariel Rider X-52 is around 52 miles. I fully charged the battery and ride around 18-24 mph average speed using throttle and pedal assist. Claimed range is around 75 miles but I think that isn’t possible unless you ride using only pedal assist and ride on flat surface. The battery capacity of Ariel Rider X-52 is 936Wh which is a massive battery especially for an e-bike at this price. 52V battery system will give you a longer range and also you will be able to have more power from your motor. Similar to Juiced Scrambler or Juiced Scorpion, Ariel Rider X-Class is using 52V battery system. The battery of X-52 is a Reention battery chase, using Samsung 3500mAh battery cells. It is equipped with a cadence sensor but having a torque sensor will be a better choice for this e-bike. The X-Class 52V comes with 20 mph speed limit, so you will go faster on your own choice where it is legally allowed. I even saw some videos where people tandem climb hills on throttle only. The motor is quiet strong, as I mentioned, which can even climb steep hills without pedaling. It seems that they chose 48T chain ring on such e-bike, so if you want to ride faster I advise you to upgrade your chain ring to 52T but make sure it doesn’t touch the chain stay as there seems to be little space. With pedal assist, it is possible to go faster but don’t expect something like 38 mph as the chain ring is bottle neck for going faster. So you will have less controller issues.Īriel Rider X-Class 52V reaches 20 mph in a matter of seconds and on flat surface I was able to reach 36 mph on throttle only. Also under same current, a controller with more mosfet is harder to get warm. If you have more mosfet your controller can supply more juice which translates into more power. Just to give you a comparison e-bikes like Juiced or Super73 has 12 or 15 mosfet controllers. Controller is one of the biggest ones I see on the market with a 35 amp controller which has 18 mosfet. So if you want to ride fast and have a fantastic acceleration you need to put up with the extra noise.Īs I see they’ve made a very smart controller compartment which is hydroformed and looks very clean. They use metal gear inside the motor and you can definitely feel the extra power and torque but surely with an extra weight and noise. Instead, they let some manufacturers to customize their motors. I know that they’ve been saying that they produce their motors, but I don’t think that is possible. It is really hard to find a faster and more powerful e-bike which costs less than $2,000.Īriel Rider is one of the few e-companies which has the capability to develop their own motors. This is an ideal e-bike for anyone looking for a fast e-bike which is still affordable. It isn’t as comfortable as a step-thru e-bike but I don’t think anyone will buy this e-bike for comfort only. The style of Ariel Rider X-Class 52V reminds me of old school café racer bikes. This is a power machine with 1000W nominal and 2000W peak power output and a maximum speed of 35 mph on throttle only. In this article I will review Ariel Rider X-Class 52V, which is one of the few e-bikes offering a 52V set-up and can be categorized as a reasonably priced e-bike considering its features and performance.įirst of all, I need to warn you.
